     The “Ola Lee Mize Award of Excellence” which is named in honor of an Alabama native, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, and decorated war veteran and patriot.  This award was established in 2006 to recognize exemplary and highly commendable service to the state and nation by a citizen of the state of Alabama and/or to a member of the Alabama State Defense Force.
